Recently, USAFA denied the making of a Cadet Art Club. The only reasoning I can think of that they not allow the club is that they have ICARUS which is in a way the academy's art magazine/publication which doesn't actually get made into print. Though they aren't comprehensive as a club and work more like a publisher than an art club. They ask for art/lit submissions but none of those that submit stuff,as far as I know, meet up to work together. The publication editors have all say and its more of a piece-wise work than a group conglomeration.
Ideally, people should be able to meet and work off each other and get critiques and be able to share their work with people that actually care.
Rachel (see

) has a great idea for the club to just go along and meet up. I mean the only difference will be that USAFA will not be providing funding for said club but they really cannot stop cadets to meet and form groups of friends or allies. It'll be more of an art group than an official club. People will be able to use the group as a way to network and find people with certain skills and do collabs or art trades, etc. They will also be able to get positive critiques and feedback on their stuff to improve with people that actually know what they're talking about.
I've got one idea though its a little crazy and probably too much the other side of rebellion. More Malcolm X to your MLK persay. Rogue Spirit Missions... with a common phrase/symbol yet anonymous until necessary. I personally like "Carpe USAFA" but that's the first thing that came to my head so I'll leave it at that. Imagine consistent "spirit missions" where one day all the tables in the cadet lobby or whatever had little leaflets that just say Carpe USAFA. Then the next week, people will start noticing the symbol pop up on the screen at lunch along with all that advertisement. Rumors will start to spread and people will wonder what the heck it means. The phrase or symbol will grow to one of the great mysteries of USAFA until the truth that it is asymbol of the desire of the cadet wing to promote the arts.
It's kinda like the District 9 adverts where people were wondering... what is this. What's with the alien-like symbol and "non-humans" phrases. Then when the movie came out, everyone went to see it. It spread like a physical meme and was quitevisible and hard to not notice.
Yeah, just a reply and brain dump of what I think.
Peace!
